Refund Policy

Returns & Exchanges

We don't accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations unless there are significant errors, flaws, or severe delivery delays. We aim to be reasonable and ask for the same consideration in return.

Returns and Exchange Details

We generally do not accept returns for buyer's remorse, incorrect color choices, changes of plans, or other personal reasons. As a small company that uses American-made materials, we can't afford to absorb the cost of returns like large corporations can.

However, we are committed to making things right. If an item arrives damaged, we can offer a discount for local repairs by a painter of your choice. For heavily damaged items, we can arrange for pickup, repair, and return.

Please understand that you are purchasing a 30 to 50-year-old "used" piece of furniture painted by us. Perfection is impossible; expect some flaws. Our standard is that any flaw not visible from three feet away in natural light is acceptable. Flaws visible only in super-zoomed pictures or under special lighting are not considered legitimate issues.

Shipping Policies

Custom Orders: All custom order items have a production time of 6-8 weeks. When you select a "raw" vintage piece, it will take a minimum of six weeks to paint it in your chosen color.

Unexpected delays due to weather, holidays, or our small staff may occur. Please inquire about current production times.

Pre-Painted Items: If an item is already painted, it will ship within 2-3 weeks after payment, barring any issues finding a shipper. Even ready-to-ship items can take up to a month to arrive.

Expedited Shipping: If you need your item by a specific date, such as for a baby due date, Thanksgiving, or Christmas, please let us know. We can arrange expedited shipping at an additional cost.

Once an item is shipped, we will provide the shipper's contact information. There is usually no tracking number as we do not use FedEx for items larger than 24".

Additional Shipping Arrangements: For an extra charge, we can arrange shipping if your building requires permission or an insurance certificate. In some cases, arranging your own shipping might be best. Local pick-up is always available to you at no additional shipping fee.

Additional Policies and FYI

  • Drawer Interiors: We do not paint the insides of drawers as the wood is rough and does not hold paint well. Painted drawer interiors will quickly become chipped and unsightly. However, we do paint the inside of cabinets, as they have a finished surface.
  • Backs of Furniture: We apply a light coat of paint to the backs of dressers, chests, and buffets. These pieces are not meant to be placed in the middle of rooms, so a finished back is not expected. Vintage pieces often have plywood or thicker cardboard backs, which do not paint well. The backs will look decent but not perfect.
  • Gloss Levels: Darker colors reflect light more than lighter colors, so the same level of gloss will appear less shiny in white compared to black.

FAQ

  • Who Does the Refinishing Work? I do! I am a solopreneur and do all of my own finishes, this is intentional on my part to keep my quality high. I feel that larger factory productions of pieces are a bit lost in quality.
  • Do You Fill All the Nicks/Chips? We fill most imperfections, but 100% perfection is unattainable in vintage-refinished pieces.
  • Is Vintage Furniture Right for Perfectionists? Likely not. If you notice every flaw before appreciating the beauty, vintage furniture may not be the best fit for you. Consider modern, mass-produced options like those from Ikea, Target, Jonathan Adler, or Kate Spade instead. However, keep in mind the quality pales in comparison to vintage quality.
